ABOUT US
The Broken Spoke is a mobile repair and maintenance service based in Auburn, California. I’m Patrick Barrett, a Bicycle Industry veteran living in Auburn who has identified the need for my and neighboring communities to have access to premium bicycle repair and maintenance services without the hassle of transporting bikes to a shop, having to wait weeks for service and then transporting bikes back home. I will bring my workshop to you and service your bike on the spot. If the repair can’t be performed then and there, I will transport the bike to my home workshop and then return it to you when it’s completed.
I owned a profitable brick and mortar bicycle shop named The Broken Spoke in San Carlos for 11 years and have worked at some very prestigious bike shops including Palo Alto Bicycles and The Bicycle Outfitter. I also worked for Specialized Bicycles in the early 1980’s and trained as a team mechanic at the US National Cycling Team Training Facility in Colorado Springs. I competed in road, mountain and cyclocross races throughout California and was the 1987 Colorado State Observed Trials Champion in the stock bike class. I’m an excellent mechanic with over 40 years of experience who has always been passionate about cycling and I will be your personal technician.
